In an age where mass communication and popular culture appear universal, identity is often wedged in conflict between heritage and homogeneity. Tapestry - celebrations of diversity, leads the way in presenting side by side, artistic and cultural expression from a growing list of multicultural groups. Tapestry is committed to working with both grass roots organizations and professional artists to increase the awareness of our cultural diversity.

Tapestry is Kitchener's premier annual celebration of cultural diversity. Taking place June 9th to 25th in 2006, Tapestry provides a platform for community groups and associated partners to explore identity within the contemporary Canadian cultural scene.

While supporting traditional expression, Tapestry pursues opportunities to promote cultural awareness through contemporary interpretations of the experience of diversity and multiculturalism in Canada and its relationships globally.
